Shenhua Zhungeer Energy Co., Ltd. (English name: SHENHUAGROUPZHUNGEERENERGYCO., LTD) was restructured and renamed from the former Zhungeer Coal Industry Company. In September 1998, the former Ministry of Coal was placed under the management of Shenhua Group Company. In March 2001, it was restructured and renamed as Shenhua Zhungeer Energy Co., Ltd. Established in 1986, Zhungeer Coal Company is a large-scale comprehensive energy enterprise integrating coal mining, pithead power generation, and railway transportation. The company has a registered capital of 7.114 billion yuan and has 8,255 employees. The shareholders are China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd. and China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd., with total assets of 11.9 billion yuan. It is the largest comprehensive energy company in Inner Mongolia and one of the core enterprises of China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd.

The company has a Heidaigou open-pit coal mine and coal preparation plant with an annual production capacity of 20 million tons, a main line with a total length of 264 kilometers and an annual transportation capacity of 45 million tons of Da (Tong)-Zhun (Geer) electrified railway special line, total Pithead and gangue power plants with an installed capacity of 566MW (including equity installed capacity), as well as supporting production facilities such as power supply, water supply, communications, computer networks, and sewage treatment. Zhungeer Coal Field is located in Zhungeer Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. It is one of the four largest open-pit coal mines in China and belongs to the border area of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Mongolia. The exploration area of the Zhungeer Coalfield is 65 kilometers long from north to south, 21 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 1365 square kilometers. The coal seam belongs to the Carboniferous Permian, with an average thickness of 32.8 meters. The coal field has proven geological reserves of 26.76 billion tons, and the average thickness of the coal seam is 32.08 meters. It is a long flame coal with low sulfur, ultra-low phosphorus, high ash content, high volatility and high calorific value, and the application base low calorific value is 4000. －5600 kcal/kg, it is high-quality coal for power, gasification and chemical industry, and has the reputation of "green coal". The first phase of the Zhungeer project is a key construction project during the national "Eighth Five-Year Plan" period. It is a large-scale project integrating coal mining, pithead power generation, and railway transportation. The project started construction in 1990, put into trial production in 1996, and officially put into production in 1999, with a cumulative investment of 9.3 billion yuan. The main single projects of the project include the Heidaigou open-pit coal mine with an annual output of 12 million tons of raw coal and its supporting coal preparation plant; the pithead power plant with 2×100,000 kilowatt units; the large (same)-quasi ( Geer) Electrified Railway; the Yellow River Xiaoshawan water intake project with a water intake capacity of 1.5m3/s and a water supply capacity of 1.2m3/s and corresponding auxiliary supporting projects. The main production and auxiliary engineering equipment are imported from the United States, Germany, Britain and other countries, representing the world's advanced level in the early 1990s. The company has established stable supply and demand cooperative relations with many electric power and fuel companies in North China, East China, and South China. The annual power generation capacity of the pithead power plant is 1 to 1.1 billion kWh. The diversified business industry with calcium carbide as its flagship product has developed rapidly.

The company started to use 3 SRC-470SAG (flow 60m³/min, pressure 0.8MPa, voltage 6000V) air compressors from Shanghai Schneider Risheng in 2008, which are mainly used for air supply in coal mines.
